Padstow Christmas Festival

We're always looking to bring you not just the best fruit in season, but sometimes we also try to share something extra special, especially at times like Christmas.  This year, we returned to Padstow with a modern take on Christmas fruit & nuts!

After a frosty start we arrived in Padstow on a bright winter's afternoon.  Clear blue skies, and not even the slightest breeze, welcomed us to the harbourside where we'd spend the next few days sharing new mixes of dried fruit and nuts, and a very special mix of roasted nuts.

This year, we brought our own grotto, which took some effort to assemble on-site, but powered by the finest Cornish pasties we could find, we were all ready not long after dark.

We brought two options from Marks and Spencer's 2016 Christmas range: mixed dried fruit with nuts (blueberry, raisin, cranberry, cashew, and pecan), and roasted nuts (almond, pistachio, cashew, Giffoni hazlenut).  Both mixes are new for 2016, but still retain the taste of Christmas that many of us remember with fondness.

Just as last year, we were busy at the Padstow Festival.  Our pitch just at the entrance meant that we could meet just about everyone who visited the festival, especially as we were flanked by some excellent stalls offering sweet and savoury treats.

It was great to see so many familiar faces, both from visitors and exhibitors.  If you get the chance next year, and you're looking for a slightly different food show to visit, the Padstow Christmas Festival is well worth the trip.  Admission is free, and Cornwall is beautiful in December.
